If this doesn’t start at the 1:25 mark, skip ahead of the off-the-jumbotron video footage to see a tow truck crew responding to a crash get taken out by cars either not responding to or not receiving local yellow flags. How no one was killed is beyond me.

Need a red flag when the visibility is that short and the drivers are that inexperienced.

What the hell, this is indeed very stupid. it looks like he was so busy following the other car, he didn’t look at the marchal waving yellow. Because he’s stuck on the bumper and when the car in front steeres past the accident it is too late for him to react.

Maybe local yellows aren't the best idea for an amateur race? That truck is right in the middle of the track exiting a turn. Just red flag it for a minute.

How about a master channel for all pit/in car communication that would allow race officials to announce yellow/red flag conditions? Hopefully someone yelling “yellow” 3 times would keep a tunnel visioned amateur driver from giving a course worker an involuntary amputation, or worse.

I’m glad the celebrity race is ending in Long Beach, maybe running it at COTA will be a good and safer thing after all. That could have been instant-death and a horrible way to end Toyota’s LB-racing history.

One time! One time the guy runs into a truck and you just can’t let it go.
